Program Objectives

To serve as a resource for veterinarians by providing accurate and up-to-date information on equine reproductive physiology; reproductive management; and the clinical diagnosis and treatment of equine reproductive pathology.

To serve as a resource for horse owners and breeders by providing accurate and up-to-date information on equine reproductive physiology and reproductive management.

Activities

Outreach objectives are met by providing educational seminars and wet labs both on and off campus, and by providing direct one-on-one consultation in person, by telephone or by e-mail. Approximately 3 to 5 consultations are handled each week by the faculty of the equine program. In addition, specialized clinical equine reproductive services are provided to horse owners and veterinarians on a referral basis.

Services for veterinarians The faculty of the equine reproduction program work closely with National Veterinary Associations and the Idaho Veterinary Medical Association to provide continuing education seminars/wet labs and other educational resources to practicing veterinarians. Recently conducted continuing education seminars/wet labs include:

Services for horse owners and breeders The faculty of the equine reproduction program work closely with horse clubs/organizations and veterinary clinics in Idaho and surrounding states to provide educational seminars to their members and clientele. Recently conducted educational seminars include:
